Recent Beauty Buys and First Impressions!

Hi there!
Happy November everyone!

This year is almost finished and it's been going really fast! Wowee...
Soon, we will be seeing all the Christmas lights on the houses in your neighbourhood and Oohing and Aahing and them :)

So this week has been a bit more chilled and not so rushed like last week.

I finally got a chance today to take some photo's of some beauty items that I have recently bought over the past two weeks or so.

Was my day off today and even though I spent it at home, it was still good. I took some photo's for this blog post, cleaned the house as it was my turn, cleaned my room a bit and changed my bedding. I guess it was a productive day in lol.

My holiday back home to Cape Town is coming soon in 20 days, so I must control my spending to save up my spending money. Really need a bit of a break so this holiday is going to be really good!

Anyways, I'm talking too much here. Back to the topic at hand! Here is more close and personal photo's of the products I bought.

First up, we have some Top Shop nail polishes. I didn't even mean to buy these. Me and my best friend went to Top Shop because she wanted to look at something. So I saw these and decided to buy some of their nail polishes. I heard that they're quite good so I though I would try them out.

Top Shop Nail Polish - Blitz

This is a very nice shade of pink. Even though it's a dark colour, the pink really comes out in a nice, seductive tone. It takes about 2 coats to get the true colour.

Top Shop Nail Polish - Gone Fishing

The best way to describe the colour of this one, is the infamous mint green colour. I wore this last week. I must say, on all my nails the colour looked a bit muted for some reason. Also takes about 2 coats to get a nice finish.

Top Shop Nail Polish - Adrenalin

This is a very glittery polish. I would say you could use this as a nice top coat. Or do some detailed designs on nails if you're into nail art. My friend has this same polish and I used this on her nails before to do a nail design and it came out very good.

Overall, Top Shop's nail polishes seem pretty good. The application of the varnishes go on nicely on the nails. Once again, I can't tell their lasting power because I only wore the "Gone Fishing" one for one day and had to take it off for work.

On to the next bunch of products...

Body Shop Lip Sticks

I basically got these for free. If you're a member of one of Body Shop's loyalty cards, you would know that if you get a certain amount of stamps, you get a free gift. And also for your birthday. So luckily for me, I had enough stamps for a free gift and because it was my birthday month, I could get another one!

I picked these two colours. They're almost similiar shades of pink but not completely the same! I like the packaging of their lipsticks. It has a very sleek feel to them and the silver just makes it look more classy. I'm not that brave with lip stick colours. I mostly seem to go for pinks and light shades for my lips.

Left shade: 04
Right shade: 03

Their lipsticks don't have names. I really like these actually! They glide on the lips so smoothly and gives it a nice glossy finish. Therefore they are not matte lipsticks. But I like that. It's nice that there is some glossy finish to it, so that it doesn't feel so dry on the lips. Would recommend these!

e.l.f Cosmetics
Studio Blush - Peachy Keen

I bought this shade because I read somewhere that orange would be best suited for my skin tone. Although, I'm not sure about that. It looks very light on the cheeks. I guess, if you're going for a flawless look, this will do. I already own another pink shade of their studio blush and I love it, even though it's very chalky.

Here is a swatch:

e.l.f Cosmetics Tweezers

I simply bought this for the day that I eventually get my eye brows done and start tweezing them.

e.l.f Cosmetics
Natural Lash Kit

I bought these because I was thinking of wearing false eye lashes for the first on my 21st birthday celebration. But I ended up not wearing them. I was a little bit scared and they felt very flimsy. I don't think I would have been able to put them on properly. I was also in a bit of a rush, so I didn't end up wearing them that night.

Last, but not least...

imPress Press-On Nails

I also bought these for my 21st birthday celebration. I wanted to wear false nails as wel. Just to be more glamourous. So I bought the white one. But later, I found a better design one, which is the open one. It has more of a design that just a plain white one.
Here is the photo of the second pair of nails that I bought and wore for my birthday...

As corny as it sounds, I was "impressed" with these. (see what I did there?)
They held on all night and all day the day after! I wasn't so sure if they would because one of my friends tried it and it didn't stay on long. But for me, they lasted well and felt strong and sturdy on my nails. Easily removable to. As much as I didn't want to take them off because it looked so pretty, I had to because of work. Definitely would buy these again!

Hope you enjoyed!

If you have any questions on these products for incase you want to buy them as wel, just let me know in the comments and I will get back to you.
