How I Wash My Make Up Brushes

Hey there lovelies!

How are you all doing this weekend?
I am starting work a bit later today, so I have a bit of spare time to squeeze in a quick post. I have not posted in awhile because things have been quiet busy.

Hmmm, I'm hungry. Haven't had breakfast yet.

Anyways, today's post is just going to be a quick post on how I wash my make up brushes. I know most of us probably dread doing this, especially if you have a lot of brushes to wash. I know I don't do it as regularly as I should.

There is my brush collection so far.
I usually lay them out like that and wash them.

To wash my brushes, I use e.l.f Cosmetics' Brush Shampoo. I put a little shampoo on the brush and squeeze and wash them. I also wiggle the brush in the palm of my hand to get more dirt out of the bristles.

Then I rinse with water until I can see that all the product has been rinsed off and I see there is no colour. I squeeze out the excess water by pulling the bristles down very hard. If your brushes are good, hopefully your bristles won't be coming out at this point.

When they're all done, I lay them out on a cloth. And I make sure that the cloth is folded on one side so that the brushes are standing downwards, as if it's on a hill. This is to make sure that some of the water does not stay in the brush and travel down to the brush head and damage the brushes themselves.

I leave them standing to dry till the next day.

It's quiet a simple process, but getting round to do it is the other issue!
It is important to wash your brushes regularly because of the dirtiness. But I do get lazy with this hehe.

Anyways, hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend, I will be working for the most part of it.

Lily :) x
